Early in autumn is probably the best time of the year to sow your grass seeds. Pruning properly will help plants, shrubs and trees to grow better, it will encourage fresh, new growth. Trees and hedges are the backbone of any garden, so it is essential to keep then in good condition with regular pruning. It will also improve a plant's shape, and encourages flowers and fruits.

Flowering perennials, annuals and bedding plants will make more flowers and better quality blooms with the odd nip and tuck. There are several easy, undemanding techniques that can be carried out while you are pottering around the garden.

FENCING
Fences can be purchased in all different heights, colours, styles and materials, so think about what you really need before buying new fencing.

PLANTING

Plants add structure, colour and scent to your garden. Even if you don't have a garden, you can add colour to your outside space with window boxes, hanging baskets or large potted plants.

TOOLS

Caring for your tools will make them last longer and perform better. In the quieter months of the year spend some time in your tool shed keeping up the maintenance of your garden tools. Remember tools do need looking after all year round and regular checks will keep you safe.
